Tai what?

An ad in the local newspaper this week advertises a Tai Chi Open House (for those in the Sherbrooke area, it’s on Monday, January 27, 2014, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Amedee-Beaudoin Community Centre).

Are you wondering what that’s all about? Check out Tai Chi: A Practical Introduction To The Therapeutic Effects Of The Discipline (by Paul Crompton, 1995, filed at 796.8).

The movements are simple, but mindful. “In most sports the aim is for the movements to become spontaneous. This is partly because the actions are relatively quick. In Tai Chi, the movements are usually slow.”

See something else in the paper that you’re wondering about? Ask a librarian; we may have a book that can get you a piece of the action.
