Governor-General’s awards

This year’s Governor-General’s literary award winners have been announced.

They include Eleanor Cattan’s The Luminaries for English fiction; and Stéphanie Pelletier’s short-story collection Quand les Guêpes se Taisent for French fiction;  in non-fiction, Sandra Djwa for Journey with No Maps: A Life of P.K. Page, and Yvon Rivard for Aimer, enseigner.

Translation awards went to Donald Winkler, The Major Verbs (English translation of Les verbes majeurs by Pierre Nepveu) and Sophie Voillot for L’enfant du jeudi, the French translation of Far to Go by Alison Pick.
